What to Expect
This workshop is a single 3-hour session to create the mini Legume tote. During the workshop you will only knit the bag, felting will be discussed, but will be done at home. The workshop is for the smallest size of the Legume tote also known as the Lentil, although, the pattern includes four sizes of this bag. Participants will receive the pattern included in the price of the workshop. 15% off any materials purchased at Unwind GR for this workshop. PATTERN & DETAILS: The Legume Tote is a felted bag inspired by the classic LL Bean Boat and Tote bags. It comes in four sizes: Lentil, Peanut, Pinto, and Garbanzo. It is knit bottom up starting with a flat base panel and then knit in the round. Straps and optional pockets are seamed before throwing it in the washing machine for the felting to do its magic. Once felted, there is also an option to add a zipper. GAUGE 13 stitches x 20 rows = 10 x 10cm / 4 x 4in in stockinette stitch before felting 16 stitches x 27 rows = 10 x 10cm / 4 x 4in in stockinette stitch after felting NEEDLES 6mm US 10 with a 20 - 24in circular needle YARN Worsted Weight Yarn (4) held double 100% wool (NON-Superwash) Unwind GR Yarn Suggestions: Berroco Lanas (held double), Berroco Lanas Quick, Blue Sky Fibers Woodstok North, Laines Du Nord Young and Trendy NOTIONS Darning needle, tape measure, stitch markers SKILL LEVEL Advanced Beginner SIZES Lentil: 3in wide x 2.5in tall x 1in deep with 1in straps Peanut: 6in wide x 4in tall x 2in deep with 2in straps Pinto: 12in wide x 10in tall x 3.5in deep with 12in straps Garbanzo: 16in wide x 12in tall x 3.5in deep with 12in straps Lentil: 7.5cm wide x 6.5cm tall x 2.5cm deep with 2.5cm straps Peanut: 15cm wide x 10cm tall x 5cm deep with 5cm straps Pinto: 30.5cm wide x 25.5cm tall x 9cm deep with 30.5cm straps Garbanzo: 44.5cm wide x 30.5cm tall x 9cm deep with 30.5cm straps Sizes denoted in the pattern as lentil (peanut) pinto (garbanzo) All sizes above are after felting. Pre-felting measurements are included in the pattern. The pattern also includes instructions for size modifications for custom sizing and different gauges.
